about me
My name is Dr. Shelley Maddox, and I am a mother, a lover and a scholar. I studied Philosophy of Education in Seattle and Chicago, and I am positively obsessed with the transformation of power dynamics in the spaces of everyday life, including our families, our friendships and our intimate relationships. I believe that relationships are an ideological site of informal education where we can all intentionally intervene in so-called reality in order to co-create new realities.

An astrologer since 1998 and a reiki master since 2022, I am ruled by Venus in gemini in the 9th and guided by the intuitive realms of embodied knowing, a pagan feminist spiritualist incarnate to help facilitate a return to heart-centered knowing, mine and yours.
My spiritual awakening was fast-tracked in January 2020 when I witnessed the death of my fave, Sophy Math. Sophy drowned in the sound while retrieving our crab pots, and the material experience of my existence completely shifted. For months, I felt as if I was floating. Life took on a surreal quality as I came to understand death as an illusion of a boundary. New friends appeared on my path, as I sought to follow him into the beyond while living in ways that would make him proud. Here I learned that much lies beyond the edge of perceptual awareness, where love is the means and the end, the process and the goal, the foundation of all that is. I hope to live my life as a testament to love’s infinite possibilities.

Astrology
A means through which to guide introspection, explore our connections to the universe and add new layers to the stories that help us understand our lives, astrology is the language of the stars. It reminds us that we're intimately linked to the many realms of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual existence. As above, so below.
Reiki
A Japanese healing tradition, reiki (令気) literally translates to “spiritual energy.” Its practices cleanse and align the chakras while elevating the frequency of consciousness toward an alignment with unconditional love.
